Current Partnerships 

Haiti

In Haiti, Kythoni partners primarily with Aid International (otherwise known as Faith and Love in Action), a Haitian nonprofit organization. We support their mission by sending in teams to operate mobile medical clinics, fund and participate in construction projects (schools, churches and clinics) and provide financial support for the provision of basic needs for the children in several orphanages.

Aid International was founded by Marlaine Alix. As their mission statement indicates, they are devoted to the support of strong and healthy communities. In addition to running orphanages in Jacmel and Port au Prince, Marlaine and her husband have built schools, planted churches and have helped several local communities start a variety of businesses in southern Haiti. Many of these rural communities lack basic necessities including clean water, adequate nutrition and healthcare. 

To this end, we have partnered with Aid International to build a free-standing medical clinic in the Marbial area and Hydromissions International to provide this community with clean water.

Kenya

St. Catherine Children and Educational Centre was established in 2000 by Pastor James Onyango and his wife Cyprine in the western section of Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi, Kenya. Initially, because of the many orphans in the community, they decided to provide those children with a life-changing opportunity by establishing a preschool. As more children from the neighborhood enrolled, they opened a fully accredited Kenyan Preschool and Primary School for grades 1-8.  An orphanage was constructed in 2006, when three siblings lost both of their parents to AIDS within a six-month period.

The most significant challenge facing the Centre is providing meals for orphans. Currently Kythoni is helping to meet those needs through donations.  As additional funds become available, we will intend to support other projects as well.
